Tucson History In these pages I will take you on a tour through the rich and varied history of Tucson, Arizona.
I will begin with the Tucson's earliest inhabitants the Native Americans who lived in and around the Santa Cruz River basin.

Then I will take you to the time when Spain ruled Southern Arizona with views of early Missions and Convents. Convento San Agustine Presidio Wall (NE Bastion)
Then Mexico sold Tucson to the United States as part of the Gladstone Purchase and the Calvary came to town establishing Fort Lowell at the confluence of the Pantano and Tanque Verde washes. Here is where the brave soldiers who fought the fierce Apache lived in the 1880's.

Then in the early 1900's a Military reservation was established East of Tucson in what is now Saguaro National Park. Here they built Tucson's first Air Base. Airstrip Tie down for plane
